Pretty little Dove – loved and loved
Thriving in the velvet cocoon of adoration
Basking in the light of the warm, bright sun
Glows like diamonds for you everyday
Pretty little Dove embraces this devotion
Opening her beautiful heart for all to see
Smiling always
Spreading joy with the sweet song of her laughter.
She is the embodiment of grace and kindness.
But circumstances change like the weather when a
Pretty little Dove spreads her wings
Even though not so very wide
Storms of controversy are provoked
It seems like a hurricane of transformation
Swirling endlessly
Furious winds bring a darkness that surrounds her
And the love recedes
Hate from all directions raging in to take its place.
Jagged, angry words, flashing like lightening
Striking everywhere, scorching her heart.
Poor little Dove
Turns out the love was conditional,
At least from some.
But there are ones you need to see
Don’t let such darkness hide the light
Precious little Dove stay true to your heart
Hold onto your kindness and grace
Send out smiles to meet the hate
Always remember those by your side
